View Full Version : [all variants] GIMP window management / raise toolbox on image window

The more I use GIMP the more I like it and it seems to have most of the photoshop features I used frequently (aside from adjustment layers). However, the window management is incredibly frustrating, but maybe I just havent found a way to properly set it up yet. From what I've found, there is no way to combine the toolbox and the image window(s) into one window.

I like the separate windows, but what I am really looking for is a way to raise the toolbox (and other gimp windows) whenever I activate an image window from the taskbar. Does anyone have any tricks/solutions for achieving this?

I don't want to have the toolbox always-on-top, because i like being able to switch between apps (e.g. gimp & firefox / whatever) between doing things and go back, but then I have to reactivate/raise all the gimp windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is really the only major gripe i have with the GIMP.
