As with many of my ideas, this started as a dream;

If Ubuntu has a humanist philosophy, then the Transhumanist Edition would have a transhuman philosophy.

Stylized to look like the OS of the future, a touch of Utopia in it.

(Something like this; http://technovelgy.com/ct/Science-Fiction-News.asp?NewsNum=2204 )

imgSeek would be it's standerd photo app, RSS readers would be pointed to transhumanist blogs and websites.

The system would speak when it has new emails, or when it has an update avaible.

Anyway, just a dream.

Er, would it have this MindCite stuff included in it?

I was more fascinated with the design.

But it would require major overhaul of sound notifications and whatnot to even appear to be able to do something like that.

"Hello Fred, today is the 26th of March." (attached to the caladner and user service) "You have thirteen new messages" (attached to the mail client)

Probably do other things as well, like sync with your apponitment book, look at what kind of music you like and find others like it. If you buy something online (and it can be tracked) it would alert you if there was any holdups....

But hey, it's a nice thought; it's possible now, of course, but it's a hell of a lot of work.
