hi everyone, I am trying to install xubuntu but I actually can't.
here's my problem:
I downloaded and burned the 8.10 version (the normal one, not alternate) and then booted the cd.
if i choose to run xubuntu it hangs on "controlling battery state" (I have a laptop). I tried to wait, but after 45 miutes it was still there... so I rebooted and tried to install directly, without running the live OS.
what i got then was a command line where I, probably, had to enter some commands but couldn't work out. it was something like:
ubuntu@ubuntu$>
the strange thing is that ubuntu and opensuse (with KDE 4) used to work properly, but I noticed the same problem trying to install kubuntu.
anyone can help?
