How to use gnome 2.26 at ubuntu 8.04?

The gnome 2.26 is released now, Can I use it at ubuntu 8.04?
I know ubuntu 9.04 may include it, but I want to are there
any ways I can use it and not change the ubuntu version?

In fact, I just want to use Exchange at evolution.

you can't, there's too much stuff involved in porting gnome 2.26 down to Hardy
