I'm trying to boot Ubuntu from a live cd and after the loading screen finishes it goes to a black screen and stays there. I tried the same live cd on a friend's laptop and it works fine.
The version of Ubuntu I'm using is 8.10 x64. I have a 64-bit processor (Phenom X4 9550) so there is not a compatibility problem. Is my graphics card (Radeon HD 4850) supported in Ubuntu?
