My Linux machine is networked to a Windows machine.

Which AV do you use on your Linux box. In the past I've used AV F-Prot and gui QT-Fprot on Suse. Had Clamav installed on Fedora Core.

I don't use any, but I stick to the official repositories for the most part, and my other machine has OSX.

Windows virii can't do a thing to your Linux system. You don't need an A/V on Linux unless you are using your Linux to secure your Windows box. Keep the system patched and you won't have to worry about Linux virii either (yes there are some around, very rare though, most are for Apache or PHP anyways).

I'm not too concerned about viruses on my Linux box but with mp3's and other files moving between 4 pc's in this house, being able to at least scan files in my home directory seems kinda sensible to me.:???:

If I remember correctly mp3 file structure is impervious to viruses (could be avi's tho)
