View Full Version : [ubuntu] cannot boot

Hi, i am new to ubuntu and have made a cd from a live image i got free from computer shopper. i have downloaded iso recorder to copy the file and all went well. i cannot boot the cd tho, i have tried f12 and booting from cd but it justs boots back into windows?

verify the integrity of the burnt disc, by checking the md5 hash. if it turns out well, then check if you can work with other boot discs.

if the disc turns out to be the culprit, then burn the iso at a slow speed, again.

Put the CD you burned in the drive and then open it up so you can see what's on it.

Do you see SEVERAL files and folders on the CD, or do you see only one file on the CD ending with .iso as the extension?

If you only see ONE file on the CD, you have not burned the CD as an "image" file, and your computer will not be able to boot from it.
