Installing 8.10 on a new HP 5150

I can successfully install 6.x and it works great, if I try 8.10 32 or 64 bit, it completes, but when I try to log in, it takes my info, pauses and starts over, no matter what I try, it will not log me in, if I start over with 6.x, no problem. Any ideas?

OK, I figured this one out, it was the video driver. so does anyone read these things? in several days I received zero responses. :(
