reverting BACK TO ubuntu

i recently installed the kubuntu-desktop. and i would like to revert back to regular ubuntu.

i apt-get installed kubuntu-desktop. am i correct in thinking that if i apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop that everything will revert back or do i have to do something else.

sudo apt-get remove kubuntu-desktop

that should do it' however backing up your personal data is a must !
