A company called Lilliputian Systems wants to replace heavy laptop and mobile phone chargers with a small fuel cell system that runs on butane cartridges. The system can store 5-to-10 times more energy than lithium ion batteries, and recharging it is as fast as swapping out the cartridge...

This would seem ever so slightly short sighted. The price of Gas is increasing in line with the price of Oil, so this wouldn't be a cost effective solution in the long run. Lithium Ion is fine.

If Lithium Ion batteries are blamed for blowing up Ipods, what do you think a compressed highly volatile Gas will be blamed for? the first Ipod to kill someone?.

Sometimes people should just not do Science.

Yeah, I suppose so. But have you ever heard of a more appropriate name? Besides, what do you expect from such "small" minded people?
