Can't seem to run Wine

I am trying to install some simple .net programs using Wine. I have tried to right click on the .exe and selected to open with Wine, but nothing happens. What am I missing?

it's been a while, but i remember there is a special way to set up for .net stuff. It has to do with putting certain windows dll files in the wine directory, this is done by a commandline procedure and I think it is posted on the wine site that has to do with getting third party launchers to behave like a windows launcher. ie; certain game launchers like Lord of the rings comes to mind.
