I could use an overview on how the menus should update. I have been skimming the forums as well as the documentation on the menu package.
update-menus
looks great but changes I make to /usr/share/menu are ignored
it produces errors on entries in /usr/lib/menu regarding openoffice 3.0. But then, where are the entries for openoffice in the menu coming from?
As for alacarte, I can't figure out what the debian folder is for. Clicking on it has no effect and it just gets unchecked when I look at another entry.
I found entries in /usr/share/menu for some other programs I would like to have in Applications. For example, file-roller. How do I get them into Applications menu?
Thanks for your patience.
