mysql and phpMyAdmin question

i think with my hosting service (the free plan at freehostia.com), i think i need to use phpMyAdmin, but does anyone know how i can set it so that the field autoincrements?

When you're creating a new table, it's one of the properties that can be set for a column. Not sure if it can be set on existing tables - are you creating new tables or modifying existing ones?
