These red icons

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=84396&forumpage=0

are actually a set of icons rather than an installable icon theme pack. I tried copying them in ~/.icons but they don't show up in the Appearance Manager.

How can I get to use them as my system-wide icon theme?

and.... *bump*

Is there something really easy that I'm missing and people are too embarassed to point out?

Any good walkthroughs on making themes?

it's only 50 icons, nowhere near a theme set. you can use them to replace certain icons from a full set to get a usable theme, but it would be mixed which might make it look odd.

copy a theme you like from /usr/share/icons and try mixing it in there see what you get.

Thanks. I'll try that.
