hello...i have installed ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop..when i try to install any new package from the updated list i get the following error...

W: Failed to fetch http://ftp.iitm.ac.in/ubuntu/pool/main/a/amarok/amarok-xine_1.4.9.1-0ubuntu3.2_i386.deb
407 Proxy Authentication Required

the above is the case wen i tried to install amarok...please throw some light on this..

You need to go into System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager -> Settings -> Preferences -> Network and configure proxy for your machine.

It didn't work for me, do you have any more suggestions? I got everything configured! Network Proxy, the updater's proxy, etc.
Can the problem be in my authorization login? It has a backslash in it?
