Graphics problem while trying to install Ubuntu 8.04(64-bit) on Dell inspiron 1545

Hi All
I am facing graphics problem while trying to install ubuntu 8.04 on dell inspiron 1545. Even installation windows does not look good. They are all distorted. I am unable to proceed with installation.
Please help!!

Hello, and welcome to the forums. There simply isn't enough info to deal with the problem, could you answer the following questions to help.

What graphics card model do you have?
When do graphical problems appear exactly (at which stage of the installation)?

Generally speaking, 1545 is probably an upgrade from 1525. If there is newer hardware, it means newer drivers may provide better support, and using the latest version may solve the problem. As you may know, the latest version is not 8.04, but 8.10, and I'd like to suggest trying the Live cd.
