I just upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04 (64 bit). Under 8.04 and all prior versions, I had my Brother MFC-420 installed with no problems. This time, the drivers install fine, but I can not locate the Cups server. I purged and reinstalled CUPS, still no joy. Even under System-Admin-Printer, I receive CUPS server error when try to connect. Can not go to it thru web browser either. Any ideas?????????

Have you made sure that the cupsys is installed. Go to synaptic & check. You could set it to re-install if it is meant to be installed already.

Yes Cupsys is installed. I even purged and re-installed it just to make sure.
Anyone up to tackling this problem????

Thanks,
Brad
