Hi guys, I'm having the following issue:

Yesterday I installed gnome-terminal by apt-get; while doing it, it also installed some gnome related libraries. After i rebooted I started having some problems.

I had openbox on top of an xubuntu installation; but since yesterday, the shortcuts I had set up for the specials keys (like volume, next track, etc) are not doing what I want, but rather, other actions; also, after my feh-wallpaper loads, I get the gnome wallpaper on top of it, and also the gnome icons-theme loaded.

Is there a way to remove the gnome thing that is doing this?

forgive my ignorance, I'm kinda new on this.

use synaptic to uninstall gnome-terminal and all the stuff that came with it should go.
use the xfce4 terminal since you have xubuntu, it's much lighter, has the same features as gnome terminal and it's already installed.

good idea, now everything's cool.

I'm not sure if I removed just the necesary stuff, but ar least everythings working fine

I removed:
gnome settings daemon
gnome control center
gnome accesibility themes

(I think maybe it was just the settings daemon though)

ok thanks a lot bye
