Based on what I've read, themes aren't a straightforward thing. It is my understanding that themes can be developed to target specific theme managers, some of which are Compiz, Emerald, GTK+, etc.

Now, onto the real question...
I tried to install a theme called "A.I. CORE (Black)" from here http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/A.I.+CORE++++++++(Black)?content=87108 but when I tried to activate it in Appearance, I got this message:

This theme will not look as intended because the required GTK+ theme engine '' is not installed.

I checked Synaptic and I do have "gtk2-engines" installed, along with a few other "gtk2" items (although the rest appear to be actual themes.) Am I doing something wrong?
