help for installing ubuntu

;)I'm new to ubuntu, i'm downloading ubuntu server edition through torrent, its in rar format, and size is 637 MB,
my question is how i have to install after downloading?
whether the size would be much more than 637 MB(as it is in rar format)?

My downloaded iso for 8.10 desktop is 715.6 Mbytes.
My understanding is that the rar file is just the iso file compressed/coded, so it should be the size I have when un-rar-ed.
Then you just treat it as a normal iso (create a CD from it or whatever for the install). It fits onto a standard CD with no space problem.
