the other day i installed xubuntu alongside ubuntu. when i realized this was a needless install i deleted that partition from ubuntu but i then remained with one half the harddrive partitioned for ubuntu and the other now empty. it didn't seem like a big problem since i don't really install software and i keep all my media on an external, anyway
now that i restarted my computer it went to boot up and while loading GRUB (except for the short while i was running xubuntu, it just went straight to ubuntu) it displays 'Error 17' and does not advance beyond this point.
of course i could reinstall ubuntu but i was wondering if there was a way to fix this without doing so. would reinstalling xubuntu on the second partition help? if i did so how could i set it to go to ubuntu as a default or better yet delete xubuntu without running into this problem again
thanks!
