Another Update Manager Problem

Hey everyone like it states it's another update manager problem.

This is what I get when checking for updates...

Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/edgy/universe/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.46 80]
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

suggestions on how I go about fixing this would be very appreciated.

Check your connection and/or Change to Main Server

Sorry Pumalite it's not the connection, and changing the software source does nothing. It's still the same error message.:(

The Edgy repositories are no longer available as Edgy reached its end of life awhile back. Are you using Edgy or are you using a later release of Ubuntu?

If you are using Edgy Eft then you are living in the past (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Ubuntu)

No I'm not using edgy. I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid.
