Hey guys, I keep having trouble updating my Ubuntu 8.10. The following errors are what I am getting:


W: GPG error: http://dl.google.com testing Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY A040830F7FAC5991
W: A error occurred during the signature verification. The repository is not updated and the previous index files will be used.GPG error: http://packages.medibuntu.org intrepid Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 2EBC26B60C5A2783

Much the same with Ubuntu 8.04, followed by:

Note that I've just run apt-get clean and apt-get update. The synaptic error occured yesterday and today.

gpg --export --armor 726C32B538D04956 | sudo apt-key add -
then

sudo apt-get update

Add the key

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get updateThen post the remaining W: message results from sudo apt-get update. also can you post the out put to

ls -la /etc/apt/sources.list.d

when I paste that into the terminal: wget -q -O - http://dl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add , it says
gpg: can't open `': No such file or directory

That was my mistake, make sure you add - at the end of the line after 'add'


wget -q -O - http://dl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
