screen flashing with Alt+Tab & FIreFox issue with similar

I've noticed two issues which may or may not be related.

1. When I ALT + TAB to switch between open apps the screen flashes and will not stay on the app I've switched to

2. When I open FireFox it is now covering the top menu bar with system information and I am not able to change this. I did notice that if I open the Add Ons sub-menu it will vanish to the background

Found the cause in case anyone else runs into this:

Under: System>Preferences>Windows, I disabled "Select window when mouse moves over them" This solved both issues
