not much to this one i used to have a nice conky setup on the right side but it just didn't blend well with the new background. Essentially the interface is standard because I use more keyboard shortcuts on the laptop. My desktop is very mouse centric however i hat the touch pad and when using my laptop both my hands are normally on the keyboard. Something I love about Linux it works how I want. It's hard to tell from the pictures but each feels completely different and meets the needs for each environment. keyboard centric for the laptop mouse centric for the desktop (normally while browsing I only have one hand on the mouse the other on a cup of coffee.) Anyway let me know what ya think.

dhysk one is very nice in deed! also the Kenyon picture :)

Mine is more humble.
KDE 4.2
I'm using white glass theme modified:
using the login window of KDE same for splash and DT background (so it looks as all the screens are the same screen and just things come and go).
Lancelot launcher (I think it's slikier then KDE one).
I'm not using desklet because I found I put them in my DT and don't use the and I want a clean DT (I even have the taskbar on autohide).

BTW: Is there some louncher like the "mac like" louncher you have for KDE?

Take a look at this thread, then Mad March 2009 Screenshot Thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1083565).
There is one of those each month, and, personally, I find amazing the amount of traffic it gets.

This is my current desktop:

hiceto, thank you. I did a search for it and it didn't come up ;( wonder what I did wrong anyway.. I thought there was one some ware. Now to get a moderator to merge mine in maybe?

T_ras thank you, I took the canyon picture about a week ago about 4 miles down stream from the hoover dam. Just one of many beautiful pictures my buddy and I took that day. As for the 'Mac like' launcher I would assume so do a search for a KDE 'dock'. I played with KDE and the Cario-dock worked just fine. However it was probably because I had all the Gnome libs, I installed KDE on top of the normal Ubuntu install.

I'm still fiddling with icons etc. but I call this: Ubuntu Studio 8.11 (Leaping Leopard)!

By the way does anyone else have this glitch where the dock disappears? It stops after about a second but returns periodically. Ive had to lunch a few things blindly.

Ya mine does that but i just move my mouse away then back and it comes back. Another way to do it is to disable the auto hide feature.

Betty, if you type gnome-utils into synaptic package manager (System-administration-synaptic package manager)you will get a few cool tools, one of which is a screen shot app.

Not to bad, although I think a desktop folder just for porn may indicate you may have a problem ;)

Yes, thanks very much, however there are thousands of wallpapers on that site. Would you happen to remember the name of it?

EDIT: Never mind, found it. :-)

Hi all

Heres my Desktop theme. Wolves, Ravens in a Nordic style. I fancy trying
to create a window border theme based on the Norse 'knot work' But I fear I have a ways to go to do that myself yet :D Compiz running with Emerald Decorator, toons icon set. Login screen is a collage of art works I assembled from the web and used to replace the images in Bitserkers superb Berserk armor Login theme.

LOL! Why would you need a code word when you have a folder clearly marked "Porn"?

but seriously now, your wallpaper and icon theme are fantastic, where did you get them?
