Hi folks,

I've recently resurrected my PC which originally had Gentoo on it. While I like Gentoo I have my reasons for wanting to switch. I also have GRUB on it so it's not as simple (from my attempts anyway) to simply put the Ubuntu CD in and voila, have it work.

So my question is this, in the presence of GRUB 0.97 and Gentoo how do I install Ubuntu? I've downloaded the LiveCD and I've put the CDROM at the top of the boot-up device priority. The drive spins but alas, no Ubuntu.

Thanks folks

S

You've burned the iso according to the docs? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto
It is checked and such?

Hello, thanks for your interest.

Yes, I followed all the instructions but I guess I didn't properly create a bootable CD from my Mac. I have since rectified the issue :)
