Best Linux Package Managers

Hey guys. I've been touring several Linux distro's and have found some differences between them, but mostly I've found what seems to make or break a Linux distribution is it's package manager. There are many package managers out there and I've only tried a few so I'm interested to hear what package manager you think is best.

Debian's package manager is good. It runs with little overhead, resolves dependencies accurately, and alot of other distro's use it. But what about others?

Of the ones I've tried. There's emerge (Gentoo's package manager) that has a good more overhead but is very good at resolving dependencies and creating custom builds. It is also very easy to remove unresolved dependencies and doing system-updates. I've also tried pacman (Arch's package manager) which I like alot. Follows the KISS philosophy, updating is quick, provides good feedback, removing a package and dependencies can be done with "pacman -Rs <package>" but finding orphaned dependencies takes a bit of a trick. I know there are a good deal of other package managers out there. Which ones do you like and why?

Pacman with yaourt is great.

I like apt-get equally (or aptitude for that matter, but always use apt-get to be consistent).

I tend to favor yum, and pkgtool. I was a little hesitant on the latter, but it's grown on me! :-P

Synaptic Package Manager is essential for me, I wouldn't ever want to be without it.

I prefer portage over all else although pkgsrc with Linux is a really interesting idea that I haven't been able to properly test yet.

I think that pacman is the best package manager I've tried, simple to use and very powerful. I think my list goes like this:
Pacman > Yum > Apt

I really like some of apt's features like the autoremove option and things like --purge. Pacman is also very powerful and I like it's simplicity.

Yum with KPackagekit integrates perfectly with KDE and never had a problem with it.

I've tried OpenSUSE's GUI frontend to yum that's pretty cool but it tended to full in half the tree. Haven't tried pkgtool yet though I know it has a good following.

Pkgtool, and the other package utilities in Slackware (i.e. installpkg), are very... manual, I suppose. I love them! :) I've already posted this before, but...

yum is my favorite. Simple, fast, great CLI (unlike apt) and cool plugins. Pacman is great too, but not worth having to use Arch (in my opinion).

People who like apt best, I think, either haven't tried others, or haven't tried others in 3+ years.
