Hi all, I am new in your forum.
I have a dual boot pc with windows xp and ubuntu 6.06.

Can you tell me how can I replace the 6.06 version with the 8.10?

Thanks in advance.

You will need to do a clean install of 8.10 if you want the newest version of Ubuntu.
Since 6.06 was a LTS (long term support) version, it is possible to do a dist-upgrade to the next LTS version, which is 8.04, and is still supported. See this:

The problem is that i don't have internet in the part of ubuntu.
If i install the 8.10 from it's cd in the part where i currently have the 6.06 version, will i have problems?

Boot up the 8.10 live CD first to see how well it runs. As long as you install it to the same partition that 6.06 was on, and don't format your Windows partition, you should be fine.

The 6.06 version will be uninstall or i will have two confused versions?

If you do a clean install of 8.10 to the same root partition that 6.06 was on then 8.10 will over write 6.06 and replace it. You will not have both 6.06 and 8.10.

Oh, and (a slightly belated) welcome to the Ubuntu forums!

Ok, thanks.
