laptop won't power off after upgrade to Ubuntu Studio

I just upgraded Hardy to Ubuntu Studio and all of a sudden my laptop won't power off. It shut down properly but freezes in the shutdown screen. After a minute I get some errormessages concerning the networkmanager which I can't post cause the laptop is already shut down

can anyone help me

Why did you install ubuntu studio

One thing you can try is press <Ctrl><Alt><F1> ( or <F5>), and you will get a shell. Type in "sudo shutdown -h now", and post any results you get

I installed Ubuntu studio cause I want to use the RT kernel for audio applications.

When I type in the shell sudo shutdown -h now I get the same messages but now before it freezes in the shutdown screen. I don't know how to copy/paste them:(

But the strange thing is the laptop sometimes shuts down properly and power off like it should, so I don't know what's wrong anymore
