I installed Ubuntu 8.10
Everything went well until I tried to install google earth

Synaptic blocks when I open it:

I I try to remove google earth I get the following message:

E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?

Is there someone that can give me all the steps (in a step by step mode including all the exact commands) to completely remove google earth?

The link I used is here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/GoogleEarth).

Ensure that you run one package manager at a time. e.g. update manager or Synaptic or Add/Remove Application or Terminal as root.

Make sure that you only have one package manager open or running at a time. eg synaptic, update manager, apt-get....
