Just received a brochure on another micro PC which you can have the option of either Windows XP Home or with two versions of linux at the same time (Ubuntu Hardy Heron and Gentoo). It doesn't come with a keyboard, mouse or monitor, but has wireless and lan built in. See this (http://www.fit-pc.co.uk/).
Has any one got one of these ? I'm tempted in getting one myself.

i read a blog about this. it should be ok. if one does not need to do very much wiht the pc it is perfect and should not collect any dust at all since the case is closed tight. and it saves monney on the electric bill.

its too small for somethings but useful for others like it can stand online as a home "webcafe" for as long as yoo want it too and makes no noice.

i was thinking about getting one after reading about it.

I like the comments about running games on the 'plug'.
The reason behind getting the PC would be to go next to the TV to run such things as Boxee and Miro.

I got a fit-PC slim about 6 months ago and have been very happy with it once I got the wireless straightened out (it didn't work out of the box; diepruis's post on this forum (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=400236) helped me out).

I run a weather station (http://www.threefools.org/weather/img/index.html) using it. It consumes about 6 watts, replacing a server that burned about 100w! Because I use it as a server, I generally don't run X on it, but when I have, the performance was a little 'pokey'. I think if that's what you have in mind you'd be happier running something like Puppy Linux.

They've just come out with the fit-PC 2.0. Much more powerful (1.6 GHz instead of 500 MHz), and only slightly more expensive ($360 vs $300, although I paid less).

That Fit PC is very expensive when you consider that you could probably build a mini-ITX dual-core 330 Atom PC for similar money.

These gadgets mentioned so far are all far too bulky, this one's much better (http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/pcs/jack-pc-the-wall-socket-pc-177564.php).

Now THAT is one heck of a clever gimmick!

But, considering that the electrical system in my house hasn't been touched in 20 years, I wonder if I'd make it that long before I'd want to rip that thing out... ;)

My attraction to the fit-PC was a turnkey system with power supply and WiFi (the weather station is in a remote spot in the house). If there's something out there less expensive that hits those requirements, there'd be a ready audience in the weather enthusiasts community. Any suggestions?

It seems very expensive for all you're getting...
