I have read on Sansa's forums that Sansa is currently working on a firmware update so Linux users will be able to use different applications to be able to convert video for the fuse...

I posted the question in the forum to see if they might have a timeline for this update...

Hope it's coming soon.

Hi guys.
I have a sansa fuze, and I cant' get ubuntu to detect it. Doesn't mount, and no results from lsusb.

I haven't heard much in the forums about anyone else having this problem, so I think that means the Fuze does in fact work in 9.04.

Has anyone else had this problem / figured it out?
Please someone respond if you've figure this out and I'll add it to a "solved" thread.

Never had a problem with my Sanza Fuze being detected by ubuntu.
But just to be sure, set your usb settings to MSC.
and for all that want to be able to convert video on the Sansa Fuze:

It does have to install wine, but hey, small sacrifice, right?

Yep. I use that application. Not sure why you'd need wine. But it's fine.
