I installed ubuntu 8.10 on my xp system so I could have a duel booting option. If I boot in xp I no longer can connect to the internet. If I boot in ubuntu I am able to connect the the internet. I unintalled ubuntu using control panel add remove programs but after rebooting I'm still unable to connect to the internet. Has anyone had this problem? Are you able to help me fix the problem?

Thanks

Have you tried to switch off the modem after it has been used by Linux and switched it on again?

I know it might sound a bit stupid, but after a while modems can get bad apparently, and I know from personal experience that it can fix it, although your problem might not be the same of course.
