Gnome lock screen without a screen saver

im looking for a way to lock my screen without putting up a screen saver or blank screen. ususally i have people watching movies in my room and i dont want to watch them all the way through some times so i need a way to lock my screen down but to let them still watch the movie while its locked. im running Gnome as my window manager.
