Hi,

i'm using Kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) and i'd like to know whether there are some firewalls which can detect / block internet access via Port 80 (HTTP). It's just that i want my computer to tell me if there are some applications accessing internet.

Firestarter for example provides blocking support by iptable rules, but thats ip/port specific but not application specific.

Linux is modular.

So monitoring is separate from configuration tools.

See the stickies at the top of this forum.

The closest thing to application specific restrictions is Apparmor.

Again see the stickies.

There is a similar thread with the same question here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1090059)

So I am closing this one now.
