Hello All
I am new to linux/ubuntu. I got Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop Edition CD today and was trying to run it. Firstly, at the menu it gave me some options where i chose the 1st option, i.e. to Try Ubuntu without installing. I pressed the first option. Ubuntu boot screen came up and then after some time the screen blacked out.
I, then tried it again, restarted my PC and same thing.
Then i tried for the 3rd time, but this time i got upto the cream colored screen, but then after some time a black screen came up and then i could just see the mouse pointer there. I waited for about 30 minutes, but nothing happened.
Why am i getting this black screen again and again ?
I have Windows XP and Ubuntu 7.10 in my PC. I just installed ubuntu 7.10 last week.
