I was wondering how many people actually read the GPL? It's a long legal document, and most people don't read those.

Nope, I know what it says though. I prefer to license my work under the MIT License (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIT_License). Sort, sweet, completely free.

Being a detail oriented nerd, absolutely yes.

I've read only a small portion of the GPL, so I voted no.

I didn't read it the first time I installed Linux, but I have read it since then, yes.

Only parts of it, not the whole thing.

Makes me wonder why you ask.

Yes, I like to know my rights. Of course I am a black and white kinda person, especially being in the military where regulations are the only way to cover your six. I've also read the EULA's for MS' products, which usually make me laugh.

I have browsed it. I currently trying to pick the MS Vista one apart, I want my money back, it didn'even get booted.

Does yawning while you skim and scan read it count?

Prefer the MIT and BSD license over it.

No, but if you can get it in pill form I sense a 6 figure a year income in your future

Easy, who wants to read pages of legalese?

Easy, who wants to read pages of legalese?

The language is quite plain, compared to a lot of other EULAs or contracts.

In any case, anyone who is in the business of writing open source software should read it.

As I'm making my own distro, I sort of had too. I don't regret it. Just had a few headaches.
