Ok, well I have been saving up every scrap of money that I have got my hands on for a while now (its not easy when your job-less and at school ;)).Anyway, one of the things I've been looking at is netbooks and I'm looking to spend between £200-£250 on one.Anybody got any suggestions? (Especially if you have one)]

Things that are important:

Intel Atom CPU
1Gb of RAM (512Mb at a push :))
Looks nice!

Thanks guys

EDIT: Forgot to mention, its really just for light use and something that I can take in to school (carrying a 17" laptop about is horible) and basically go wherever I go lol

For that price you could get an ASUS Eee PC 901. For a little cheaper you could get the Acer Aspire One with 1GB of memory. But the battery life on the Eee is much better.

My favorite source of cheap notebooks is a company who handles the leasing for large organizations. I found the company who handles the hardware sales for our local hospital and get used and off-lease items at about half of what they would cost of used-retail pricing.

So like the hospital gets 20 new notebooks or tablets and the old units go back to the lease company who sells them off to outlets and such. I am able to buy one off them for what the outlet would pay. I got a 3 year old HP tablet / notebook convertible for $240 (US). Similar used were $400 and up.

At the very least it will give you an idea about Netbooks availability and prices in the UK, you did say around £200.

If you, or your family, hold an Argos card you may be able to get a Netbook (they have a few to choose from) on 6 months interest free credit.

Good luck.
