CRC Error

Hi all

Downloaded 8.10 last night, md5summed and burned it this morning.

All is well, it asks language, then ask if I want to try or install etc and no matter what option I choose, I always get this error directly afterwards ...

CRC Error
System Halted

Any ideas?

Try checking the disk for errors and running a memtest, you can select these option from the main menu of the Live cd.

I couldn't get any of the options to work. I eventually copied the iso to my machine (Windows partition) and burned a new disc and it installed fine (well except that I had to use safe mode to install).

Maybe has something to do with my "new" drive. My laptop's drive was giving problems so one day I stripped an old, assumably broken mini mac and took the drive out of that and stuck it into my machine. Works like a dream though :)
