Hello to all ! Untill now I've always been using Windows but now I'm interested in learning how to work in Linux.I am interested in the names of a few GOOD and WORKING packages to substitute the following Windows tools : bsplayer ( video ) ; winamp ( audio ) ; dreamweaver ( web-development tool ) ; FileZilla ( FTP client ).

---I've been trying out : sudo apt-cache search <keywords> --- but I can't find anything that thrills me fully. TKANK YOU !!

Filezilla is available for Linux. There are many multimedia players; vlc, Amarok, Exaile, mplayer, to name just a few.

Much appreciated ! Any ideas for something to substitute dreamweaver though ? I really like it because it helps you plenty by auto-completing your tags-attributes , can validate your code and tell you where you have errors and much much more...any ideas please ?

I didn't mention any replacements for Dreamweaver because I don't write HTML. Maybe this will help: http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Linux_software_equivalent_to_Windows_software
