Hi!

I am a noob when it comes to the text-based ubuntu server. But I don't want to use the GUI for my server. Cause it uses so much of my memory etc.

(btw. I'm using UBUNTU SERVER EDITION 8.10, 32-bit)

So what I want help with configuring correctly is Postfix, Apache2 and vsftpd. I have been searching around the internet for a proper explanation of what I want to do. But i just can't find any.

Postfix :
* How can I manage accounts in postfix(newest upgrade)? For AUTH.
* When I try to send mail with the sendmail app. And I go into mailq. It tells me that the connection is "Timed out". What is the problem whit that?
* I later want to use the postfix as my standard smtp-server fo my desktop pc, with thunderbird.

Apache2 :
* I want to change the htdocs folder to another hdd (a external one). How can I check the name of the harddrive. And wich file must I use to change the folder?

VSFTPD :
* Here I also want to change the ftp-folder, to the same folder as the Apache2 (so I can use it as a web-server, and upload updates to my webpages with ftp). Maby make a Virtual User, attached to that folder or something?

Thank you for any help!
And please be gentle on me. As I said, I'm a noob.

Cheers,
Artheus

Edit:
I would really like if someone could tell me about SSL AUTH for postfix too.
