I've been having some problems with my installation for some time.....
But I'm hesitant to start from scratch again, my home partition isn't seperate and I tried moving it but got a load of errors for my trouble.

For the moment the system seems to be working fine but I do not get the notification of updated anymore, I have to manually open the Update mamager and let him check.

Is there a setting I might've changed ?

Also there are two updates that I cannot check or install, (I have Kubuntu installed as well)
the first is kde-multimedia-kio-plugins, the other is knetworkconfig .

Anyone have any answers to this, or is it a better bet to just start over from scratch, but how do I do this without losing the different profiles and changes I already made now, not to mention the mails and other stuff in firefox and evolution ?

Have you checked Software Sources under the "update" tab to see if you have the update boxes ticked and when to check for updates?

Yes set to check daily.....but not doing it anyway.

Perhaps I'll start afresh when the next release comes out....dreading what'll go wrong but maybe it'll be the best bet.

sudo apt-get install kde-multimedia-kio-plugins knetworkconfig

That will be a temporary fix to float your boat for the next 5 mins. ;)
