View Full Version : [kde] KDE/GNOME Panel applets using Dbus and possibly Gtk (NOT Qt)

So I would like to develop a panel applet for the KDE Panel because it uses DBus instead of Bonobo. I have heard that Bonobo is deprecated and that the GNOME developers are supposedly working on porting the GNOME panel over to DBus as well. I am assuming therefore that if this happens, applets that can run for the KDE Panel will also be able to run in the GNOME panel by using DBus.

Does anyone know how to write a panel applet using DBus for the KDE Panel? If I have to use QT that this fine but I would prefer to use GTK+.

If anyone knows how to write a panel applet for GNOME using DBus at the moment that would also be very helpful.
