I am trying to install ubuntu 8.10 inside windows vista x64 ultimate. I followed the instructions and the cd installed the ubuntu files onto my c drive. When the computer rebooted, it booted right back into vista. I checked the advanced boot system settings and it did show the ubuntu boot option, however, during reboot the ubuntu option will not show. Even if I hit esc during the boot process, it will only show the windows vista boot option.
Any ideas?

Put a bootable flag on the Ubuntu partition. I don't know if windows has fdisk in the command prompt (cmd)

I thought about that, but the "install inside windows" installed the files directly to my C: drive, under the ubuntu directory. I am not new to linux, however I am new to this type of installation.
