Hello all,
I hope you can help me with this... I've just spent the past few hours working on my ubuntu installation. I've got all my hard ware drivers installed, my gui looking slick, my work programs installed, a vmware server of xp loaded with all the applicaitons I couldn't port over into wine.

And....... its all on an external hard drive, so it draaaaaaaaaaaaaagssssss. I did this because my dedication to linux was hobbiest at best. Now I know I can do all of my work from linux, and need it to be speedy.

Question of the day: Can I port this install? perhaps make a compiled disk that would install on other machines (just mine though)?

Thank you so much in advance for help

Safest way I can think of is install a new Ubuntu and copy over your settings. Maybe there are some disk manipulations you can use, but I haven't looked into this myself before.
