Post your last.fm stats here =)
Let's see what everyone listens too over the longterm.

I'm all for the reggae at the moment.

I never saw a use for last.fm. I can preview things in myspace if I really want to and I couldn't care about trends. I just got some flogging molly today, never really listened to them before, but I can say that I'm in love. And they are nothing like most of my collection.

I like to because it provides a statistical point to music, and helps me find similar bands.
Flogging Molly are good, heard dropkick murphy? If not check it out!

Got them as part of my binge I had last night. ;)

Most of the music I listen to now I found on last.fm so I'm a huge fan of it! The other thing is that last.fm shows just how much my tastes have changed. I really like lastgraph (http://lastgraph.aeracode.org/) as well.

I prefer Pandora. I mean, Last.fm is great, but I prefer the way Pandora is set up. I just wish there was a way to stream it in Rhythmbox or Banshee or something.

I love last.fm. I love being able to listen to music free and legally, I love being able to visualize my musical tastes, and I love being able to find new music through last.fm.

Here's my profile, in case anybody's interested: http://www.last.fm/user/ghindo

I don't listen to that radio or anything really, I use it to have it build charts and recommend me new music, which it's great for.

Although it's a horrible representation of my actual playing statistics since I generally use MPD and I just recently installed lastfmsubmitd

Somehow our compatibility is "VERY HIGH", although I can't see it.

Once I just randomly decided to stop submitting statistics to last.fm...

Actually I'm a fan of every single of your top 8 artists :) however a lot of my metal collection hasn't been scrobbled since I haven't had my external hard drive home for the last couple weeks in which that period I have finally got MPD to scrobble.

To be honest, I think the only musical compatibility that really matters is "Super." Everything else really doesn't represent musical compatibility all that well.

I found out about last.fm when I first installed Songbird 0.6 (back when I was still using Vista :P).

I like using last.fm to track the music I listen to, not so much to find new music. I've used Pandora for that more recently.

Songbird seems to be lagging a bit with updating at the moment.

I love banshee for it's amazing scrobbling skills.

I like the fact that I seem "low" with everyone else who has posted.

Sometimes last.fm's compatibility algorith seems quite weird. For example I'm apparently "very high" compatible with the above poster, allthough we only share two top10-artists.

Although I don't think is representative for me, as I listen music in many other places.

The only person on here that I'm remotely close to is you. I guess I have feminine music tastes :o

I found http://www.thecarbonaccount.com via that graph site. Really love the site design :KS

What do you use with MPD? I used to use mpdscribble but it stopped working randomly :( At the moment, I'm using lastscrobble and lastmpd which work pretty well..

Yeah, neither mpdscribble or sonata are submitting to last.fm properly for me. The songs show up as "now playing" or whatever, but they don't actually get submitted. I ended up just going back to Amarok as always. Seems like I'll never be able to replace it :\.

I never know whether I should clear out my plays or not since most of the bands at the top on my profile I don't really listen to any more, but at the same time it provides a cool look back at things I used to like.

Hmm, sonata's always worked for me. Seems to work now however I don't really like to keep it open all the time since it's usually on random play.

I never had a problem with Sonata either. It just seemed to stop working yesterday, and mpdscribble is doing the same thing.

Yeah, but is it possible to clear out your play? I don't listen to half the music on my all time top 10 anymore since I had a very limited collection when I first signed up and it just scrobbled the same music again and again...

Hmm, you're right. I thought that it would scrobble after playing that track but it's just giving me this error:

/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/sonata/audioscrobbler.py:339: DeprecationWarning: BaseException.message has been deprecated as of Python 2.6
self.message = message
/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/sonata/audioscrobbler.py:343: DeprecationWarning: BaseException.message has been deprecated as of Python 2.6
return msg % (self.type.upper(), self.code, self.message,)
AudioScrobblerConnectionError: NETWORK: 000 timed out

I can understand the first part. (Jaunty has just been updated to python 2.6 and a lot of the python packages are broken) but I'm not sure about the second part..

Now that you mention it, my stuff isn't being scrobbled either. I use mpdscribble, never had any troubles before.

Same here, and you can clear out your plays in settings -- data at the website

It's probably from the change in the audioscrobbler API. I know for sure that lastmpd works except that I can't use it at the moment because of python 2.6 :(

I, too, love looking back a year or two and seeing how my tastes have changed. I've discovered so much incredible music through it that i cannot thank it enough.
