Hello everybody,

I've just installed Oracle 11g on ubuntu 8.10, therefore I had to create a new user 'oracle' by the useradd command. Everything was installed and worked pretty well. However, the user oracle has no access to Desktop session, that is, it is not possible to login as oracle from the login window (as the normal users can do) or even run Desktop applications from the terminal, invoked by the user oracle. For example here is what I obtain when I run the following command as oracle:

oracle$ gedit myscript.ksh
No protocol specified

(gedit:30370): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0
oracle$

Any idea? how can I fix this problem and grant Desktop access to the user oracle?

Thanks in advane,
:)
