Hi,

Is it possible to make the kde4 panels non-transparent?

NO because KDE4 now has taken control away from the user

Don't be stupid.

@OP or for anyone else wondering: Download the AYA Plasma Theme (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Aya?content=76197) and apply it to the desktop. If you only want to apply it to the panels: system Settings > "Advanced" tab > Desktop Theme Details > Panel Background (Select Aya). Then right click on your desktop and select 'Appearance Settings" and under desktop theme select Customized.

@ izizzle. Yes, but this only works if you want a non-transparent aya panel. Is there a way to turn on desktop effects, and not have the panel semi-transparent?

You can disable compositing to get a non-transparent panel, but of course you'll lose all the nice effects.
If you want to stay with the effects, I think you can de-activate a setting in the control panel...I think it's called 'Translucency', im not quite sure.

Yes, there a few options here, but panel control is not available.

Aya uses system colors as replacements, so the panel should fit right into the desktop.
