I have recently downloaded ubuntu 8.10 again and want to start using it once more. However, I am having issues with the resolution display. It displayed fine at 600 by 800 when I first used it in October of '08, but now, it's coming out distorted. I reinstalled ubuntu and the default 1600 displays on my LCD just fine. Just fine being I see clearly, but the desktop is twice the size of my monitor and I can't see half of it.

How can I fix this?

Hardware: Unichrome LCD Gateway MX3228.
1 gig RAM
64 MB shared video memory.

I am somewhat familiar with DOS and terminal...

EDIT: After looking through the forums, am I better off downloading 8.04 LTS instead of using 8.10?
