Man... that was a hot looking desktop, seriously. He had it set up kinda cool like osX as well I wish I knew how to pull that off to make it more comfy feeling since all I use is linux Ubuntu.

Right click on desktop, change desktop background, visual effects: Change to either 'normal' or 'extra'

Install compiz setting manager

sudo aptitude install compizconfig-settings-manager

go to system > preferences > compizconfig settings manager

look for the 'expo' effect and enable it.

Super key + e (the default short cut) should give you the same effect as what you ask.

(super key is the key with the windows logo on it)

Pretty Simple to make your desktop look like that ............ u need to install 2 packages compiz configuration settings manager and avant ......... and i am telling you how to do that below .........

Its quiet easy to set it up using command prompt (terminal), but since u guys r new (I dont want to frighten u away) let me explain how to do it with icons and menu ........ hehehe

1) Install the needed softwares 'Compiz configurations manager' and 'avant'
click on ur ubuntu menu (like the windows 'start') and go to add remove programs. In the search tab type 'compiz'. It will list a few programs like say

Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm)
Compiz Fusion Icon
Screenlets
etc..........

select 'Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm)' and 'Compiz Fusion Icon'

search for avant and select 'Avant Window Navigator'

now click on 'apply changes' which will install the 3 softwares..

note: if u dont see the above 3 programs in the listing, in the show tab (of add remove programs) select 'all available applications'

2) Enabling and Selecting plug-ins

To get the OSX like navigator.........

ubuntu menu -> accessories -> avant window navigator
this will start ur OSX like dock at the bottom .........
to make it more cool right click on the dock bar and go to preferences ...... this will open up 'awn-manager' and go to
general -> bar appearance -> look
select '3D look' and of course u can run around and play with the angle settings etc ........

now u may want to hide the bottom window switcher panel for which u can right click on the bottom panel and go to properties and select 'auto hide' .. or u may just give 'delete panel' (I dont recommend doing this)

To get the wall like effect u saw in the video .........

ubuntu menu -> system -> preferences -> compiz configurations settings manager
in the desktop tab un-select 'Desktop Wall'
select 'Expo','Desktop Cube' and 'Rotate Cube'

now for the cool part........

press super key + e ......... (super key means the key with windows log on the left side of keyboard typically between alt and ctrl keys) .. u can switch between the desktops using arrow keys or with mouse .......

now for the cooler stuff
press alt + ctrl + right/left arrow keys
and tell me what u think about that effect .......

if you found my reply sufficient please close the query .......

"Spyterm4n" im working on a guide to make Ubuntu look like MacOS but is not finish yet, you can google around if you want to find one there are many. you can always try this simple detail guide to "Make Ubuntu look like Vista" I think you'll find it very easy and it makes a nice desktop.
